I recently began writing again, This led me to look at other bloggers and what they put out there. Some, in my opinion, put too much of their personal story into their posts. Not to say there is anything wrong with that. If you want an online journal for others to see that’s fine. You paid for it, you set it up, do what you want.
Others don’t put enough emotion into their writing. If you are trying to draw attention to your thing there has to be a balance. Im sorry to hear that your toaster died yesterday, but go out and get a new one. You are trying to get me to purchase your toaster? How can your toaster make a difference in my life? Does it make toast faster? Does it have a higher capacity? How has your experience with the toaster improved on what is already in my kitchen?
Personality in writing makes it relatable. If you try to make a connection, through whatever medium you choose, there has to be something more than that which can be found in an instruction manual. It’s not just what should I do, there needs to be an element of why should I care. If you are reading this you might be trying to improve your writing. If this is the case, I hope it helps. Anyone who saw my headline and is interested in home construction kept scrolling. That’s fine by me, that’s not who I am writing for. I’m not even writing for the likes and follows, just trying to help those who might need it. Those of you who get value from this.
I’m writing for those of you that have read this far. As I said before you might be looking to improve your writing, you might simply be trying to figure me out. Maybe you just needed a slight distraction and somehow landed here. Whatever your reason, enjoy your stay.
Until next time,
C. P.
